Lies of Depression

Depression makes us believe lies. If you are struggling with depression, here are three lies to be aware of and steps to overcome them.

I'm alone.

Depression has a way of making us feel alone even when we have people around us. Remember that you are not alone! Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."

No one understands.

While you may think you're the only one feeling this way, we can guarantee that you are not the only one who has felt depressed before. The truth is not everyone will understand what you're going through--but someone will. You just have to be willing to share what you're experiencing so you can find someone to relate to.

Reaching out is pointless.

Isolation only deepens the pain, but healing begins when you let others in. Community is God's gift, reminding us that we were never meant to walk alone. Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Reach out to a trusted friend or family member, or contact us to schedule an appointment with one of our therapists.

You can get through this, but you can't do it alone. We are here for you!
