Overcoming Self-Limiting Beliefs

Do you ever get the feeling that you're not good enough? Or any goal you set you'll never achieve? Or do you think that you'll never be successful in life? You're not alone!

So many people struggle with self-limiting beliefs like these. We see many clients who are impacted negatively by their self-limiting beliefs. Still, there is good news! These beliefs can be challenged and overcome.

One way to challenge and overcome self-limiting beliefs is to reframe your thoughts. Below are a few simple steps you can take to reframe the way you think about yourself and your limits:

1. Write down your self-limiting beliefs.

In a journal or on paper, write down the negative, self-limiting thoughts you think about yourself.

2. Find evidence that disproves these beliefs and write them down.

Find the opposite of these self-limiting beliefs through Scripture, encouragement from others, or another trusted source. Write these down next to the self-limiting beliefs.

3. Look at this list often.

The next time you start having thoughts that support your self-limitations, go back to your evidence that disproves them. Read it out loud, and remind yourself of the truth!
