3 Practical Steps to Navigate Grief

Grief is an interesting process. There's no right or wrong way to grieve, and it looks different for everyone. If you happen to be going through a grieving period, whether you're grieving a person, a life-change, or an experience, here are some things that will help:

Give yourself grace.

Every day will look different. There will be days when you feel great, and there will be days when you feel down. In those days when you're feeling down or like something "should" be different, that's when you need to give yourself grace. Think, "It won't be like this forever, but it's okay to be like this today."

Give yourself time.

There is no specific amount of time that you "should" be grieving. You could grieve for months or years--but there is no particular amount of time, so give yourself the time you need.

Lean into your community.

Depend on those around you. You don't have to experience your grief alone. Reach out, ask for help, and rely on others for emotional and physical support.
