Read This if You're Stressed
If you’re reading this because you’re stressed or anxious, you’ve come to the right place--and you’re not alone. Stress and anxiety have a way of making us feel overwhelmed, but as believers in Jesus, we aren’t asked to carry all of these feelings. We’re asked to bring our stress, fears, and worries to God. As you read these Bible verses, take a moment to pause, breathe, and pray. Give yourself permission to take five minutes and meditate on these Scriptures:
Philippians 4:6-7: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Matthew 11:28-30: “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
What do these verses mean to you? What specific parts of these verses bring you peace? As you take your five minutes to rest, consider these questions, and write your answers down in a notebook or quietly think them to yourself.
Here’s to peace.
