Setting SMART Goals

Happy New Year!

Regardless of what 2023 was like for you, 2024 is here, and it's time to move forward! Have you heard of "New Year's resolutions"? Each year, thousands of people set "resolutions." These resolutions are firm decisions to do or not to do something. While making these decisions is good, what's better is having a plan to follow through. This is why we are focusing on goal-setting this month!

To get started, let's discuss the SMART goal-setting method technique:

Specific

When setting your goals, you want to ensure they are clear. What are you trying to accomplish exactly? What steps will you take to achieve the desired outcome?

Measurable

When setting goals, it is crucial that there is a way to track your progress. How will you know when you achieve your goal? What measurements, numbers, or markers must you track along the way?

Achievable

Determining if you can reach your goal is also essential. Do you have the time, resources, and skills to achieve this goal? What needs to change in your life so you are equipped to achieve this goal?

Relevant

A goal that has nothing to do with you or your interests may not last very long. When setting a goal, you must make sure that it makes sense with who you are, what you value, and what you envision for your life. Does this goal matter to you? Why does it matter to you?

Timebound

Setting a deadline for when you want to achieve your goal will hold you accountable. Pick a date to complete your goal, and put it on your calendar!

We hope these tips on the SMART method help you set amazing goals for this year!
